11/30/2008 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Portland Trail Blazers will kick off a five-game road trip this afternoon against the Detroit Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Portland is 4-6 away from the Rose Garden this season and will also visit New York, Washington, Boston and Toronto on its trek out east. It has won three straight overall and five of its last six games, including Friday's 101-86 triumph over the New Orleans Hornets at home.
Brandon Roy finished with 25 points, 10 assists and six rebounds to carry Portland past the Hornets. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 17 points and grabbed seven boards for the Trail Blazers, who finished off a perfect three-game homestand.
Steve Blake and Nicolas Batum had 14 and 12 points, respectively, in the victory. Greg Oden scored just one point but pulled down eight rebounds for Portland.
The Pistons will wrap up a four-game homestand on Sunday and are 5-2 in the Motor City this season. In Friday's 107-97 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, Allen Iverson scored a team-high 17 points to lead the Pistons despite not starting after missing practice on Thursday,
Detroit head coach Michael Curry called for the Thanksgiving practice session in order to give the Pistons more playing time with Iverson, who the club traded for earlier in the month. Iverson missed the morning session, but entered Friday's game and led his team in points and assists, with seven.
Walter Herrmann added 16 points off the bench and Jason Maxiell finished with 13 points and eight rebounds for the Pistons, who have won two in a row.
Portland and Detroit split a pair of meetings last season, but the Pistons have won five of seven and seven of the last 10 matchups in the series. The Blazers have won seven of 10 in Motown.

Academy Award Betting Odds for Best Picture Offer Great Value
If there is any category that is not an obvious win for any one nominee in this year's Academy Awards, it would be for Best Picture. Sure the Departed is a 5/7 favorite, but that's hardly anything when we look at Helen Mirren and her "out-of-reach" 1 to 40 odds (which means you would win a whopping $1 for every $40 bet).
For value, take a look at MySportsbook.com Oscars betting odds on my personal favorite, The Queen - a remarkable 12 to 1 long shot. The film hasn't won any pre-awards for Best Picture (compared to The Departed and Little Miss Sunshine), but there is a tremendous following and it is a strong enough film to warrant a surprise win.
TV Guide advises Oscar watchers should be cautioned not to discount the drama "Babel" with its strong social themes about overcoming communication gaps among people of different cultures.
"While 'Babel' lost several guild awards to 'Sunshine' and 'Departed,' it still enjoys loyal support, and historically Oscar voters favor dramas with social messages over comedies like 'Sunshine' and violent crime movies like 'Departed'."
"It hasn't done well in the guilds, which means there isn't much industry support," said Tom O'Neil of awards site TheEnvelope.com, "But several critics are expecting it to win, and that gets my attention." Babel had 7 to 2 odds at press time.
Who is to say independently produced Little Miss Sunshine won't be this year's Crash. Last year, Crash won for Best Motion Picture, shocking those who bet on gay cowboy flick, Brokeback Mountain, as the favorite to win.
