08/18/2008 - Pinehurst, NC (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Wesley Bryan and Andrew Putnam both posted rounds of three-under 67 Monday to share the lead after the first round of stroke play at the U.S. Amateur.

The championship is being contested at Pinehurst Resorts No. 2 and No. 4 courses. Bryan played No. 2 on Monday, while Putnam played No. 4.

Bryan scrambled his way to his 67 as he hit just four fairways, but recovered to hit 13 of 18 fairways in regulation.

"I scrambled around all day," said Bryan. "I was hitting it so far off line that I had some good lies in the pine straw and on the packed down cart paths. You name it, I was on it. I got it up and down from everywhere."

Sihwan Kim, the 2004 U.S. Junior Amateur champion, carded a two-under 68 on the No. 2 course. He was joined in a share of third place by Barden Berry, Isaiah Telles, Matt Cook, David McDaniel and Jeff Edelman.

Derek Fathauer, 2007 quarterfinalist at this event, and Billy Horschel, a member of the 2007 U.S. Walker Cup team, are among a group of players tied for ninth at one-under 69.

They were joined at minus-one by Dan Woltman, Tyler Gann, Robbie Fillmore, Jesse Massie, Brady Exber, James Bowen, Scott Langley, Sam Smith, Peter Uihlein and Jordan Johnstun.

Brian Harman, the 2003 U.S. Junior Amateur champion and a member of the 2007 U.S. Walker Cup team, and Nick Taylor, a quarterfinalist from last year, are among 15 players at even-par 70 after the first round of stroke play.

After two rounds of stroke play, the low 64 players will advance to match play. The match play portion runs from Wednesday through the 36-hole final on Sunday.

MySportsbook.com week 1 NFL lines

Now that the 2008 NFL schedule is finally out, it is only matter-of-course for lines on “Week 1” to follow.  Of course MySportsbook.com is the first to churn out odds for the NFL’s inaugural week for the upcoming season.   Expect a lot of fireworks the first Thursday night of the season as the defending champion Indianapolis Colts face off against the surprise of the 2008 season, the New Orleans Saints.  These teams were ranked #1 and #3 in the NFL respectively a season ago so a high scoring affair could be in order.  As of now, the Colts will be giving 6 points to the Saints; keep in mind the Saints were one of the better road teams last season going 6-3 SU and 7-2 ATS.  The first Monday night of the season will again provide a “double feature”. Coming off a disappointing season, the Cincinnati Bengals will look to get back to playoffs and improve their public image as they take on the AFC North favorite Baltimore Ravens.  The second game features a couple of teams that haven’t had too much success recently but each could make some noise if the NFC is as weak as it was last year as the San Francisco 49ers host the Arizona Cardinals. The most interesting game of the opening week will feature the NFC champion Bears as they hit the road to take on the NFL’s top team during last year’s regular season, the San Diego Chargers.
