Stoke City signs Davies to four-year contract

08/19/2008 - Stoke-in-Trent, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Stoke City completed the signing of Andrew Davies on Tuesday after agreeing to a four-year contract with the former Southampton defender.

The Potters agreed to an undisclosed fee with the Championship side for the 23- year-old over the weekend and Davies has now put pen to paper at the Britannia Stadium.

The former England Under-21 international began his career with Middlesbrough and made over 50 appearances for the Premier League club.

He moved onto Southampton on a permanent basis last October, where he made 25 appearances before finishing the season on the sidelines with a fractured cheekbone.

Davies also underwent knee surgery during the summer and has yet to make an appearances this season.

"Andy comes to us with considerable Premier League experience for a player of his age," Chief Executive Tony Scholes told the club's official website. "He is our sixth signing of the summer and another valuable addition to Tony Pulis' squad."
